MARTIAL ART INSTRUCTION FOR TEENS AND ADULTS FACING SPECIAL CHALLENGES
How Can Your Teen/ Adult Child Benefit from Martial Arts?
Students with special needs, behavioral and/or learning difficulties — including autism, Down syndrome, ADD and AD/HD — can benefit from the structured learning environment that martial arts provide.
MARTIAL ART TRAINING IS:
- Structural – training follows logical, sequential, and systematic curricula.
- Sociological – students engage in peer learning, group activities, partnering, etc.
- Auditory – techniques are explained and discussed verbally.
- Visual – techniques are also visually demonstrated and simulated.
- Kinesthetic – martial arts involves continuous movement and physical exercises.
- Humorous – elective activities should be fun!
MARTIAL ARTS HELP STUDENTS TO:
- Improve self-control.
- Enhance social skills.
- Boost self-confidence / self-esteem.
- Improve focus / concentration.
- Increase stamina / physical strength.
- Improve balance / coordination.

Competition Support
Champions Foundation of Arizona believes in the values that competition has to offer regardless of the challenges a student may face. The skills gained from competition are priceless. The medal is never the priority.
Champions Foundation of Arizona is here to help those who wish to compete but may need some financial assistance.
Referee and Coach Development
One objective of Champions Foundation of Arizona is to help those who want to compete in karate competitions.
To give athletes an honest opportunity to be successful, coaching and refereeing in the state of Arizona must be developed to a professional level.
Champions Foundation of Arizona will help those who have an interest in pursuing these skill sets if financial assistance is needed.
Karate Can Do! Foundation
The Karate CAN-DO! Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping children and adults with learning differences and physical challenges reach their full potential through the teachings and techniques of karate, a martial arts discipline which improves physical, cognitive and emotional health.
Karate Can Do! Foundation has been instrumental in contributing to the development of our ASPIRE Special Needs Program and Champions Foundation of Arizona. They have contributed both knowledge and funds. We thank them very much for their help.
